Our Design Process
- Meet with Client and establish:
- Project Scope
- Project Style
- Project Budget (estimate)
- Clients sign a Letter of Agreement and provide a retainer to initiate the project
- Develop Concept Plans for preliminary review
- Gather inspiration images to convey concept to client and establish feel and shapes of elements in the space
- Meet with Clients to discuss concepts and inspiration images. Determine refinements to concepts
- Revise plans
- Pull together sample finishes for Clients’ consideration
- Preliminary budget for project
- Meet with Clients to review revised plans, preliminary selections and preliminary budget
- Revise selections for finishes and associated pricing
- Meet with Clients to review finishes
- Visit showrooms with Clients to see products in person, as necessary
- Final plan and finish revisions
- Walk through with Contractors at project site to bid on work
- Finalize project pricing with bids
- Meet with Clients to review project costs, discuss any adjustments necessary
- Prepare Contracts for Materials and Installation
- Clients sign contracts and provide deposit for work
- Order products, pay suppliers and coordinate installation schedule with Contractors/ Vendors
- Present schedule to Clients
- Manage implementation of execution of the final design
- After punch list items are completed, secure final payment from Clients (per contract)
- Pay all vendors for products and completed work
Projects primarily involving furniture and finish selections will follow a slightly different set of steps than a construction project like a bathroom remodel. This list is simply illustrative of the general process for most of our projects. Smaller scale projects such as paint selections or window treatments will have a shorter and less detailed Design Process.
